Bronze Doors
These ancient doors were originally on the Roman Senate house (the Curia) in the Roman forum. It is likely that they survive to this day only because they were incorporated into the basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano.

Lightning Strike
The leg of the famous Capitoline She-Wolf. According to Cicero, a famous bronze statue of a she-wolf was struck by lightning. This statue shows a repair mark that is sometimes believed to be from that lightning bolt.
(The statues of the twin boys were added in the Renaissance.)

This modern recreation of the famous she-wolf is outside the Capitoline museum in Rome. The original is inside.
